This Statement on privacy and cookies and any amendments thereof covers all services, software and anything else that Marinebook d.o.o., Hrvatska, directly or indirectly (via third parties) places online at the disposal of the Client (or any other third party with no concluded separate contract) either via mobile phone, e­mail or phone.
By accessing, reviewing and/or using our web pages and/or any our application via any our platform (hereinafter individually and collectively: MARINEBOOK Platform) and/or by insertion of data into the MARINEBOOK Platform and/or any of our applications through any of our platforms (hereinafter individually and collectively MARINEBOOK Platform and/or by entering into a contract with the marina that is using MARINEBOOK Platform (i.e. legal or natural person that, in the legal sense, carries out marina activities; in the text of this Statement all these marinas are designated individually and collectively as: the Marina) through the reservation of berth by using the MARINEBOOK Platform you recognize and confirm that you have read, understood and that you agree with this Statement.
Marinebook d.o.o. may from time to time modify privacy and cookies rules, and to see the changes you can visit MARINEBOOK Platform. If you cannot agree with our privacy and cookies rules, you should stop using our services.

MARINEBOOK Platform and its infrastructure and/or possibilities of communication with the Marina via MARINEBOOK Platform, are owned, operated and provided by Marinebook d.o.o., Hrvatska (in this Statement: “Marinebook d.o.o.”, "us", "we" or "our" and other forms of the possessive pronoun) are provided for your personal, non­commercial use only, and are subject to the General Terms of Use. Any person using the MARINEBOOK Platform free of charge shall be called Client. Where the Marina is using the application intended for the Clients it shall have, in the use of that part of the application, the status of a Client.


What kind of personal information does MARINEBOOK Platform use?

In order to use the communication tool for communication with Marinas, you need to create a User account. This allows you to save specific personal data, write reviews about previous stays and manage future reservations.

When you visit our websites, even if you are not communicating to the Marina that you want a berth reservation, our system will collect certain information, such as your IP address, GPS location, which browser you’re using, and information about your computer’s operating system, application version, language settings, pages that you have visited and information about longitude and latitude.
If you are using a mobile device, we might also collect data that identifies your mobile device, device­specific settings, characteristics, and latitude/longitude/GPS location details. When you make a reservation of a berth in the Marina and are communicating with the Marina via the MARINEBOOK Platform, our system registers through which means you have made your reservation.

We may also receive information about you when you use certain social media services.

Why do we collect, use and share your personal data?

Reservations: We use your personal data primarily so that you can complete and administer your online reservation and forward your reservation details to the Marina.

Customer service: We provide User service via e­mail. Sharing your details with our customer service staff allows us to respond when you need us, to the extent possible for us.

Client reviews: We may use your contact information to invite you by email to write a review after your stay. This can be helpful to other clients.

Account administration: The use of MARINEBOOK Platform implies the ability to create a User account. We use the information you give us to administer your account and to allow you to manage communication of reservations, acces to offers by Marinas and other offers, make future reservations and change of your personal settings more easily.
Managing personal settings, depending on available technical options of the MARINEBOOK Platform, could allow you to keep and share lists, share photos, see the Marinas that you have searched for before, and see other information you have provided about destinations, reviews your have written for the Marinas where you stayed before.
If you want to and if MARINEBOOK Platform has technical capabilities, you can share specifif information from your User account with other people, so you can share your photos, names of the Marinas you stayed in earlier, your lists, your future trip plans, your reviews and/or other information in connection with your reservation in the Marina.

Marketing activities: We also use your information for marketing activities, as permitted by law. For example:
When you set up a User account, we may use your contact information to send you news of similar products and services. Unless you explicitly oppose, we may also send you other regular newsletters by email or other communication chanel. You can opt out, or unsubscribe, from marketing communications at any time using the ​ "Unsubscribe" link in each newsletter, or you can administer your subscriptions through your account.

Based on the information you share with us through MARINEBOOK Platform, including social media pages, you may be shown individualized/personalized offers. These might be offers that you can communicate directly through the MARINEBOOK PLATFORM, or third­party offers you might find interesting.

If we believe that a particular offer may be of interest to you, we may decide to make contact with you by phone.
Other communications: There may be other times when we get in touch by email, by post, by phone or by texting you, depending on the contact information you share with us. There could be a number of reasons for this:

We may also send you other material related to your reservations and/or use of MARINEBOOK Platform, such as information from Marinas, as well as information we feel might be useful to you in planning your trip or getting the best out of your stay. We may also send you information related to your upcoming reservations or a summary of previous reservations you made through MARINEBOOK Platform.
Market research ​ : We sometimes ask our customers to take part in market research.
Fraud detection and prevention ​ : We may use personal data for the detection and prevention of fraud and other illegal or unwanted activities.

Improving our services: We use personal data for analytical purposes, to improve our services, to enhance the user experience, and to improve the functionality and quality of our services.

How do we use social media?

We use social media to promote our partners properties and to promote, improve and facilitate our own services. For example, we may integrate social media pluggins into the MARINEBOOK Platform. So when you click on one of the buttons and register with your social media account, information may be shared with your social media provider, and possibly presented on your social media profile to be shared with others in your network.

If we enable signing in to MARINEBOOK Platform services with your social media accounts. Your social media provider will be able to tell you more about how they use and process your data in such cases.

How do we share your data with third parties?

Before we use the information for purposes other than those specified in this privacy policy, we will ask for your consent.

In certain circumstances, we may share your personal data with third parties.

The Marina in which you would like to book a berth: In order to enable you to communicate your reservation with Marina, we need to transfer relevant reservation details to the Marina. This may include information such as your name, your contact details, information on the ship for which you require berth, the names of persons travelling with you and any preferences you specified when communicating the booking. This information may also be used by us or by the Marinas to give you personalised offers related to the reservation.

Third­party service providers: We may use service providers (such as "data processors") to process your personal data strictly on our behalf. This processing would be for purposes such as facilitating reservation payments, sending out marketing material or for analytical support services. These processors are bound by confidentiality clauses and are not allowed to use your personal data for their own purposes or any other purpose.
Competent authorities: We disclose personal data to law enforcement and other governmental authorities insofar as it is required by law or is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts and fraud.

How do we make use of mobile devices?

We have free apps for a variety of mobile devices and use versions of our regular website that have been optimised for mobile. These apps and mobile websites process the personal details you give us in much the same way as our website does – and they also might allow you to use location services to find accommodation nearby.

How do we use guest reviews and other destination­related information you share with us?

After your stay at any Marina booked via communication through MARINEBOOK Platform, you may be invited to submit a guest review. This invite may ask for information about the Marina, the surrounding areas, and the destination. By completing a guest review, you are agreeing that it can be displayed on a page of a Marina within the MARINEBOOK Platform, in our mobile apps, in our social media accounts and in social apps, or on the Marina website or on our business partner’s website, to inform other visitors about the quality and services at the Marina you stayed in.


What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small amount of data that is placed in the browser of your computer or on your mobile device. This Statement on Privacy and Cookies applies to cookies and similar technologies (hereafter together referred to as “cookies”).

Why are cookies used?

Does MARINEBOOK Platform use web beacons?

As well as using cookies, we sometimes uses web beacons. A web beacon is a tiny graphic image of just one pixel that’s delivered to your computer either as part of a web page request or in an HTML email message. Either directly or through service providers, we use these pixels as part of our online advertisements either on our website or on third­party websites to learn whether a user who is being shown an online advertisement uses MARINEBOOK Platform; to track conversion with partner websites and to analyse the traffic patterns of users to optimise the travel­related services we bring to you.


What security procedures does MARINEBOOK Platform put in place to safeguard your personal data?

In accordance with European data protection laws, we observe reasonable procedures to prevent unauthorised access and the misuse of personal data.

We use appropriate business systems and procedures to protect and safeguard the personal data you give us. We also use security procedures and restrictions for accessing and using the personal data on servers we use. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access personal data in the course of their work.


The services offered by MARINEBOOK Platform are not directed at children under 18 years old. The use of any of our services is only allowed with the valid consent of a parent or a guardian. If we receive information from a child under 18 years old, we reserve the right to delete it.

Direct communications

MARINEBOOK Platform is designed as a communication tool between the Clients and Marina.

In cases of reservation related disputes, we may provide the Marina, upon request, information about the content of the communication between you and Marina and about other relevant data recorded by MARINEBOOK Platform, as proof on what reservation was communicated through MARINEBOOK Platform.

How does MARINEBOOK Platform process direct communications between you and you’re the Marina?

Should you have any questions about reservations you can contact the Marina directly through dedicated messaging fields or by making use of alias emails. For security purposes, MARINEBOOK Platform has an automated system that screens all communications for malicious content. That includes spam and the limitation of certain file types, such as: .zip, .rar, .exe and alike. In the event communications with malicious content are detected, the communication may be blocked and/or forwarded to a person competent for fraud prevention for further investigations. Note, all communications sent and received using MARINEBOOK Platform as communication tools will be stored by MARINEBOOK Platform. To the extent permitted by law, we will access communications between you and the Marina upon either of your or Marina’s request, if required by law, if strictly necessary for security or law enforcement purposes, or if we otherwise have a legitimate interest, such as to detect and prevent fraud and misuse. In addition, we may analyse anonymized content of communications to improve our services.


How can you control the personal data you have given to us?

You always have the right to review the personal information we keep about you. You can request an overview of your personal data by emailing us at Please write 'Request personal information' in the subject line of your email and include a copy of your identity card to help us prevent unauthorised individuals from accessing your personal data.

If the personal information we have for you is incorrect, we will update it at your request. If you no logner want to use the MARINEBOOK Platform services you can send a request that the use of your personal data be blocked. You can delete your user account at any time by signing into your account on the MARINEBOOK Platform website and choosing to remove your account.
